BEING SOCIALIZED
“being socialized” explores the temptation of becoming visible on social media, while also asking about the fear of selling ourselves out (digitally).
“being socialized” consists of a series of portraits. The men and women depicted have staged themselves in self-chosen locations that reflect them and their personalities. Their faces are covered –anonymized.
“being socialized” asks: Are we ready to give away everything about ourselves on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and the like – to make the private public, and to leave ourselves completely naked and unprotected?
This is my 2012 project ‘being socialized’ book printed in a first revised 2018 limited (5/5) edition.
